How to participate?
Any local authority is welcome to participate in the European Mobility Week. You are a political representative or a technician in a local authority and are willing to participate to this initiative, please find in this section all necessary information on how to do so.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE ?

Any local authority can take part in the European Mobility Week campaign as long as it undertakes to comply with a charter drawn up in consultation with various national European partners of the project, or, where appropriate, a charter that has been adapted to the national constraints of a country that wishes to reinforce the measures to be implemented.

Apart from marking out a restricted area, complying with the date of the 22nd September and providing an increased availability of alternative modes of transport, the participating cities and towns put in place the means needed to inform the inhabitants of the practical details of the operation and to encourage them to give up the use of car on that day.

Obviously, the terms of reference - whether European or national - allow each town to adapt the operation to its own layout and local constraints by introducing practical measures (new bus timetables, creation of cycle lanes, making cleaner vehicles available, etc.).

Finally, measurements of traffic, air quality, noise, impact on public opinion, etc. should allow the impact of the day to be quantified in each partner town, so that a national and European assessment of the campaign can be drawn up.

HOW TO REGISTER ?

Two documents need to be fulfilled and submit to the national or European contact : the European Charter and the on-line registration form.

To register to the European Mobility Week and be visible on the European Mobility Week website, you need :

As soon as your application is validated by your national coordinator or the European coordination, the data provided about the city activities will be published online in the "Participating cities" section.

The European Charter has to be signed by the local competent authority and sent to your national coordinator or to the European coordination if no national coordinator is available.

HOW TO FIND IDEAS ?

The European Coordination of the European Mobility Week published a Handbook and Good practice guides to help the participants in the organisation of their Week of transport-related activities. These publications give ideas and practical examples that can be useful when drafting a coherent programme and contacting potential partners.

HOW TO PROMOTE THIS EVENT ?

The European Coordination for the European Mobility Week provides a set of communication aids and tools freely downloadable.
