A European Mobility Week Workshop was held on Tuesday 24th February in Brussels gathering about 100 persons. The goal of this workshop was to exchange experiences between the different stakeholders of the European Mobility Week organisation: European partners, national coordinations and cities and towns of all around Europe.
During the morning, speed networking sessions have been organised. Different hosts welcomed the participants:
- City of Budapest (HU) about "Engendering support for Car-Free Day",
- City of Zagreb (HR) about "Brainstorming for EMW 2009 theme - ’Improving City Climates’",
- City of Sheffield (UK) about "Integrating EMW into a city’s year-long mobility activity",
- City of Purgstall an der Erlauf (AT) about "Support structures for EMW",
- City of Almada (PT) about "Promoting EMW and Car-Free Day in a low budget context",
- MAX project researchers about "’Campaigning the Campaign’ - gaining stakeholder support for mobility campaigns",
- City of Chemnitz (DE) about "Support for EMW in cities from different stakeholders",
- DG TREN about "Urban mobility challenges in new Member States".
During the afternoon, two training sessions have been organised about:
- Communication strategy for EMW,
- Working with the media for EMW.
A great time in the year for all participants to share their views on the European Mobility Week issues on the European and local level.
