The campaign will include the organization of a series of events for all social groups ranging from preschool children, through schoolchildren to Krakow’s adult citizens. Each day of the campaign will have a separate theme and related educational events will be held from 16th to 22nd of September.
The main themes of the campaign of the European Mobility Week and European Car Free Day in Krakow 2009 are:

- History of the city transport
- I care for the climate
- European Car Free Day
The program:
Wednesday - 16 September 2009: ’Safe and responsible cycling’
10.00 - 17.00: Medical rescue presentation and training on the Small Square of the Old Town that will include e.g. general principles of providing first aid to the people injured in accidents, getting familiar with medical rescue equipment, actions to be taken in case of fractures, haemorrhages, burns, rib cage, abdomen and facial injuries, operation of an automated external defibrillator
10.00 - 14.00: Exam for bicyclist’s license for children and teenagers organized by the Police in one of the most beautiful Krakow city parks - dr J. Jordan’s Park, on previously prepared routes
Thursday - 17 September 2009: ’Let’s get to know the Krakow Bicycle System’
11.00 - 18.00: Presentation of a system of cyclist routes in Krakow and of the City Bike Rental opened last year- BikeOne Krakow (the Small Square of the Old Town). The presentation will include greenways, main cyclist routes, leisure cyclist routes, local tourist trails, principles of safe cycling, functioning of the City Bike Rental, etc.
Friday - 18 September 2009: ’Mobility 50+’
10.00 - 17.00: Presentation of AENEAS project on the Small Square of the Old Town, combined with recruitment for workshop trainings for seniors and free medical examinations for people over 50 (50+)
12.00 - 14.00: Bicycle trip for seniors "Seniors - around Krakow on the bike"
16.00 - 17.30: The 14th Mobility Forum - "Mobility of the elderly" in the seat of the Krakow City Hall, on the square Plac Wszystkich Świętych
10.00 - 12.00: Bicycle race around Nowa Huta meadows organized by Nowa Huta Culture Centre
Saturday - 19 September 2009: ’Cycling around Krakow’
10.00 - 14.00: Presentation of LIFE CYCLE project on the Small Square of the Old Town. Survey on the physical condition and cycling among 10-12 years old children
10.00 - 15.00: Construction of a bike, bike accessories and servicing - presentation prepared by bicycle shop workers
10.00 - 15.00: Operating tram depot at Brożka Street open for visitors - Krakow citizens and tourists
11.00 - 18.00: Presentation of Durant - the oldest in Poland, historic bus from 1929 on the Small Square of the Old Town
Sunday - 20 September 2009: ’History of the city transport’
11.00 - 16.00: Free entrance to Muzeum Inżynierii Miejskiej (Museum of Urban Engineering), Św. Wawrzyńca Street
10.00 - 16.00: Free transport for tourists and Krakow citizens from Cichy Kącik to Św. Wawrzyńca Street (Museum of Urban Engineering) and back on the historic tram No. "0"
11.00 - 16.00: Presentation of historic busses on the Small Market of the Old Town and transport from Mały Rynek to Św. Wawrzyńca Street (Museum of Urban Engineering) and back
Monday - 21 September 2009: ’I care for the climate’
Opening of pedestrian and cyclist routes on the pavements along the main transportation routes:
- opening of the pavement made available to cyclists at Stella-Sawickiego Street
- opening of the newly made pedestrian and cyclist route along Warszawska Street
Tuesday - 22 September 2009: ’EUROPEAN CAR FREE DAY’
8.00 - 18.00: Closing Św. Idziego Street and Podzamcze Street to traffic
10.00 - 12.00: Formal opening of the cyclist route on Smoleńsk Street - cycling along the route with representatives of City authorities and of the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways on Św. Idziego Street
