In the course of European Mobility week the success of previous campaigns will be measured and new permanent measures presented to the citizens. Once again, numerous organisations, clubs and citizens’ groups will present their projects which all, in their different ways, contribute to improving the city’s climate.The following format of the week will serve as a framework various more specific projects:

Monday, September 14

Presentation of the final programme and all partners and signing of the EMW Charter!

Introduction of the EMW Pledge: How many tonnes of CO2 shall the City of Koprivnica NOT release into the atmosphere in one week?

Wednesday, September 16

The Day of the Town Climate (The World Day of Ozone Layer Protection) Lecture and film :The Ozone Layer in Danger – for schoolchildren : 5 viewings and 1500 students involved.

EMW Pledge signing in schools, City Hall and enterprises – radio report live on number of pledges signed by community leaders and citizens.

Start of the school project: Class marathon 2009 – Southward bound.

In each class, students and teachers travelling to school on foot, by bicycle, using public transport or car-pooling schemes were registered for the competition "daily mileage". The overall progress will be displayed on the Town’s website of each registered school. This year the "virtual expedition" will take our schoolchildren southward. Their progress will also be accompanied by geography projects in school libraries/computer classrooms.

Thursday, September 17, Mobility and Health European Mobility Week in Koprivnivca

• Lecture: Osteoporosis – problems and solutions – for senior citizens. A voluntary measuring of osteoporosis at the local hospital will be organised.

• Walking audit of most frequented pathways by several clubs and citizens’ groups – Presentation of „Koprivnica on Foot – tourist guidebook“

• Schools’ mobility projects

• Walking train for kindergarteners

• Cycling trains for schoolchildren

Friday,September 18, Green Spaces

• A Green Note – Open – air concert for children and citizens will take place in the Music School Park.

• See you at the Playground- kindergartens and schools organize games and exercises at the newly redocorated playgrounds ( 9 venues).

• Music Pavillion Matinee – Concert and exercises for senior citizens will be organised in the Town park

• Cyling rendevous – The possibility to test the tour of the new cyclist route between the towns of Koprivnica and Djurdjevac ( 36 km).

Saturday, September 19, Town Centre for leisure and shopping

• Open-air market of local produce in Zrinski square, closed for motorized traffic

• Treasure Hunt – mobility project for children and parents in cooperation with Town Library, City Museum and a renowned writer of books for children Sanja Pilic

• Tai-chi event in the Town Park

• Exhibition of schoolchildren’s mobility projects

Sunday, September 20, Cycling

• Memorial cycling marathon race Joza Horvat: national marathon race organised by the local cycling club and National cycling federation.

• Exhibition and promotional sale of bicycles and cycling equipment

• Bicycle servicing in Zrinski square

• Presentation of cyclists’ map of Koprivnica

• Safe cycling – leaflet presentation

Monday, September 21, Mobility Management

• Presentation of Sustainable Mobility Management Plan for the City of Koprivnica in partnership with institutions and businesses

• School Travel plan presentation – First school travel plan for the Primary school Braca Radic presented

• Traffic safety measures by traffic police presentation

• Reasonable car use – exhibition of cars with additional safety and reduced fuel consumption features

Tuesday, September 22, In the Town, without my car!

Wider town centre area will be closed for motorized vehicles: Zrinski square, Florijanski square, Bana Jelacica Square, Starceviceva, Nemciceva, Esterova, Svilarska streets.

• Final cycling competition for 6th grade students

• Open air museum in the traffic-free streets

• Streetball tournament in the Zrinski square

• Rollerblades parade

• Wheel-chair races : national competition of Association of the disabled citizens

• EMW Pledge Day: radio show live – checking results of the pledge taken by citizens – how many tonnes of CO2 have we captured in a week?

• Final day of schools and businesses competitons
