The European Mobility Week Award was designed to reward activities carried out by local authorities in the framework of the European Mobility Week. It is awarded to cities that proved to be fruntrunners in terms of sustainable transport and managed to communicate the campaign’s message to citizens.
The Award aims to promote experiences and successes in organising the Week and to raise awareness for the need of local and individual action in the field of sustainable urban mobility.
The finalists of the Award given for the 2009 campaign have been celebrated at a prestigious ceremony in Brussels on 23 March 2010 and highlighted in European Mobility Week publications.
The three finalists were:
- Gävle, Sweden
- Ivanić Grad, Croatia
- León, Spain

The winner of this year’s European Mobility Week Award has also be awarded with a free video to promote its achievements as a champion of sustainable urban transport in Europe.
