The City of Ivanic Grad (Croatia) was one of the finalists of the EMW Award 2009. The city has less than 50,000 inhabitants, but despite its small size, the citizens, local authorities, NGOs and local businesses all collaborated to successfully organise and implement programmes under the 2009 theme of Improving City Climates.

Last year, Gävle won the 2009 European Mobility Week Award. This year, the City is taking part to the European event for the sixth time.

10 days before the launch of the European Mobility Week 2010, 1006 cities are registered to the initiative and have display their programme of activities on the MobilityWeek.eu website.
As last year, the most important participation is seen in Austria, Spain, France, Poland, Hungary, Portugal and Czech Republic. In 2009, 2181 cities have participated to the Mobility Week.
