Detailed description (English): The citizens of Velika Gorica and Zagreb will present their love for cycling, healthy life and their cities by attending the first VG - ZG - VG Bike tour, which takes place on Saturday, September 16th. This interesting cross-country biking event will have two start positions as well as two places for rest and fun.
The first start of this unusual bike tour, connecting the centers of Velika Gorica and Zagreb, will be at 10:00 am at the Franjo Tuđman Park at the Pučko otvoreno učilište, and the first resting and socializing of cyclists will take place in the area of Zagreb's Upper Town, Plateau Gradec, Strossmayer's Promenade and St. Catherine. At 11:30 - 14:30 hrs cyclists will be able to join and be entertained the street band on Upper Town, and before the second start towards Velika Gorica, all bike tour participants will be photographed on Gradec plateau.
Organisers are inviting citizens of Zagreb and all interested bikers from other cities to come to Velika Gorica at the first starting position and participate in bike tour. If someone thinks they can not take full mileage, join the bicyclists in Zagreb's Upper Town.
At about 2:30 pm, all bikers will go to Velika Gorica. There - at Tuđman's park different musicians are waiting for them aswell as food and drink.
Bike tour VG-ZG-VG is organized by Ekoregija Velika Gorica, PROGLAS agency, and NextBike - a public bicycle system. Project is supported by: City of Zagreb, Velika Gorica, tourist board of Velika Gorica, tourist board Zagreb County, Ministry of Internal Affairs and several companies. Detailed description (original language): Građani Velike Gorice i Zagreba će svoju ljubav prema biciklizmu, zdravom životu i gradovima prezentirati sudjelovanjem na prvoj Biciklijadi VG – ZG – VG koja se odvija u subotu, 16. rujna. Ova zanimljiva međugradska biciklistička manifestacija imat će dvije startne pozicije kao i dva mjesta za odmaranje i zabavu.
Prvi start ove nesvakidašnje biciklijade, koja povezuje središta Velike Gorice i Zagreba, biti će u 10:00 sati u Parku dr. Franje Tuđmana kod Pučkog otvorenog učilišta, a prvo odmaranje i druženje biciklista održat će se na prostoru zagrebačkog Gornjeg grada, točnije na prostoru platoa Gradec, Strossmayerovog šetališta i Trga sv. Katarine. U vremenu od 11:30 do 14:30 sati biciklisti će se na Gornjem gradu moći okrjepiti i zabaviti uz nastup uličnog benda, a prije drugog starta prema Velikoj Gorici svi sudionici biciklijade grupno će se fotografirati na platou Gradec.
Organizacija poziva Zagrepčane i sve zainteresirane bicikliste iz drugih gradova da dođu u Veliku Goricu na prvi start i već tu započnu sudjelovanje, a ako netko misli da ne može odvoziti punu kilometražu, neka se pridruži biciklistima na zagrebačkom Gornjem gradu.
Oko 14:30 sati svi biciklisti uputit će se u Veliku Goricu gdje ih u Tuđmanovom parku očekuje druženje uz različite glazbenike te hranu i piće.
Biciklijadu VG – ZG -VG organiziraju Agencija PROGLAS, Ekoregija Velika Gorica i NextBike – sustav javnih bicikala. Potporu projektu pružili su: Grad Zagreb, Grad Velika Gorica, TZ Velike Gorice, TZ zagrebačke županije, MUP i nekoliko tvrtki. Objectives: The aim of the event is to encourage and promote alternative mobility, a sustainable environment, a healthy and quality life, as well as better linking of Zagreb and Velika Gorica via cycling trail.
Expected Outcomes: Increased awareness of the importance of using alternative means of transport - like using a public bicycle system.
