Detailed description (English): On occasion of the European Mobility Week, NATO HQ is participating by organizing an exciting mobility event at the new HQ. The event will be opened to all staff (4,200). It will involve 15 Mobility participants (from both public and private sector), covering the following categories: public transport, biking initiatives, carpooling, car/mopeds/scooters-sharing, innovative apps. Bruxelles Mobilite' will also be present to offer an snapshot of future plans for the Region.
Some of the participants are offering prizes to staff such as free bike-sharing cards, free trains' monthly subscriptions, discounts for subscriptions to mobility platforms.
NATO is also offering a cool prize sponsored by NATO SG, still to be unveiled to staff.
ProVelo will unveil a NATO-ProVelo partnership planned for 2019, where NATO will sponsor most of the costs for a limited number of staff to test electrical bikes.
The event will last three days (18-19-20 September), and will include the following activities:
- a mobility info point, the focal point of the event opened every day during working hours to distribute mobility information, and meet the participants and the NATO Mobility Manager.
- a Real Demo area set in the parking area, but relatively close to the info point, where staff will be able to test electrical bikes, scooters, etc. sponsored by Decathlon, Scooty, Troty and to test cars sponsored by DriveNow, Zipcar and Zencar.
- a Mobility Conference opened by NATO Senior Management to which seven mobility participants will attend.
In preparation of the Mobility event, a communications campaign has been launched one month in advance, by informing on a weekly basis staff about the upcoming events via Newsflash sent to all staff, intranet posts, and digital signage. One day before the event starts, a cool video shot within the HQ will be launched.
Target group(s): NATO staff, 4,200 members from different entities, Civilian servants, Military, Diplomats.
Objectives: Raise awareness about mobility and multimodality offer in Brussels and around.
Expected Outcomes: Decreased car usage to commute to work and in daily life.
