Detailed description (English): The SaveMyBike system constitutes a set of interacting services provided to citizens to improve the usage of bicycle transport and of the other connected sustainable transport modes.
The first one consists of a private bikes theft disincentive service while the second is a sustainable mobility practices rewarding system.
1.Bike service
The service is based on the installation of RFID passive sensors on private bikes (used and new ones) and on the bike data sharing such as photos and location, in order to activate two functionalities:
1.1 Functionality theft-disincentive (development at the prototype level)
The system implements “safe areas” where you can leave your bike, with the issuing of an acoustic signal and a warning on your mobile phone together with the information of the police and other users in case of theft
This system in addition to discouraging theft, tries to solve the problem of urban bikes anarchic parking.
1.2.Functionality – finding stolen bikes
The bike theft can be reported by the platform and the smartphone application GOOD_GO communicating it to the police and to other users along with the characteristics of the stolen bike. The parking enforcement agents, the police or, in any case the service personnel, have a portable reader that reads the bike sensors along the way recognizing the stolen ones and, therefore, communicating it to the owner. The citizens themselves can recognize the stolen bikes and communicate their position to the platform.
2. Rewarding system GOOD_GO
The rewarding system monitors the travel modes used and their routes (in total respect of privacy) and provides information on:
a.avoid air pollution emissions (compared to car trips emission)
b.transport cost per single mode used
c.burned calories and other information on the state of health induced by their mobility (it's used the
Moreover, points are assigned based on the emission level reached and these points allow access to an awards system. This is useful to local shops that have advertising and possible marketing actions.
a.Emissioni atmosferiche inquinanti evitate (rispetto a spostamenti in auto)
Target group(s): Citizens, public administrations, local shops, bike producers, urban mobility service providers
Objectives: We try to combine two incentive systems for sustainable mobility, mutually reinforcing. The MaaS for private bike (the more sustainable vehicle fleet in the world) gives the number of users to the GOOD_GO App for the rewarding system so to be able to monitor for the first time, in a continous way, mobility trends in a large citizens panel
Expected Outcomes: To involve Leghorn citizens and to reach a statistical significance part of them and to test in a real Living Lab SaveMyBike services, hardwares and softwares (all open sources).
