Event highlighting transport hubs and multimodality, in particular walking and cycling links to public transport. Invitation to general public to walk/cycle/bus in "Race against Rob" a local Olympian medallist. Setting up of Mobility Café with guest speakers from NL and Ireland to promote best practice . Rebel Pedal Family Fun Cycle and party to celebrate cycling in the city
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Implementing one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Permanent measures implemented this year:
New or improved bicycle facilities
  • Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
  • Develop public bicycle hiring and sharing systems
  • Improvement of bicycle facilities (parking, locks etc)
  • Other: Completion and opening of new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Lee
Pedestrianisation
  • Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)
  • Extension or creation of new greenways
Public transport services
  • Improvement and extension of the public transport network (creation of HOV lanes for public transport modes, new stops, new lines, reserved areas etc)
  • Improvement and extension of the public transport services (express services, increase frequency etc)

Mobility management
  • Adoption of workplace travel plans
