Delivering bookmarks at the first day of school (5 schools)
Presenting the project Pedala para a Escola (Bike to School day) to parents and educators.

Promotion at facebook and CML site

Tha mascot Violeta Stop visits schools to approach to other ways of going to school.
20 September
Presenting the project Pedala para a Escola (Bike to School day) to students from 7th to 12th grade;
Showing the documentary "Bike vs cars" in the assembly school hall;
Opened discussion with the same students and two members of the council as moderators.
21 September
Bike experience: At school, children will experience different bicycles - joallete, buggy bike and focus ebike.
Municipalty transport service - free
22 September
Delivering bookmarks in the event Lousã Outlet;
Photo Point with a bike and showing the public that you can buy in local shoppings going by bike.
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Implementing one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Permanent measures implemented this year:
New or improved bicycle facilities
  • Improvement of bicycle facilities (parking, locks etc)
  • Other: Bike to school day (annual project that encourages students to go by bike to school every last Friday of each month)
Pedestrianisation
  • Create or enlarge pedestrian streets
  • Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)
Traffic calming and access control scheme
  • Speed reduction programmes in zones near schools
  • New traffic regulations: traffic circulation and parking
Accessibilities
  • Create wheelchair ramps
  • Enlargement of pavements
Mobility management
  • Elaboration of educational materials
  • Development of travel plans / mobility plans in consultation with local stakeholders
